Gardeners Can Turn Hobby into Helping Hand!
In just five years Hydro for Hunger has raised almost $70,000 to battle world hunger via corporate sponsorships, private donations, and proceeds from the sale of specially-designated products. The Hydro for Hunger initiative benefits the not-for-profit Institute of Simplified Hydroponics (ISH), which is currently working in 17 countries with priority projects in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

Gardeners can help by purchasing Hydro for Hunger products, attending a Max Yield Gardening Expo, and telling friends and family about the program. Thank you to everyone that has supported this worthy cause. And remember, every contribution makes a difference! To schedule an interview about Hydro for Hunger, please call John Byrd at (812) 876-6450 extension 258.

Facts On
World Hunger
The goals of Hydro For Hunger are achievable, and
with your assistance the results could be revolutionary.

Virtually every country in the world has the potential of growing sufficient food on a sustainable basis. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has set the minimum requirement for caloric intake per person per day at 2350. Worldwide, there are 2720 calories available per person per day. Over 50 countries fall below that requirement; they do not produce enough food to feed their populations, nor are they able to afford to import the necessary commodities to make up the gap. Most of these countries are in sub-Saharan Africa.

9% of US food recipient households report that children have missed meals in the past month because they lacked food or the means to obtain food. (Second Harvest's Hunger 1997: Faces & Facts)
